About the event
Join us for the Symposium Opening where we will learn a deeper understanding of ABCD with the Co-Founder of the Asset Based Community Development Institute, John McKnight. He will join us via Zoom and bring with him the knowledge he has built over decades of work with activist organizations, government offices, unions, university and research. He will share many of the ideas from his huge body of books and articles related to community building and the understanding of neighborhoods focused on the usefulness of local resources, capacities, and relationships, he and his colleges have published. Followed by small group conversations to help connect and reflect on what we have just heard and how it relates to our communities.
There will also be a collaborative art project, time for networking and connecting as well as LUNCH!!!
This event will be held in-person as well as virtually.
